Supporting Mental Health in Crisis Situations: Effective Response Strategies

In healthcare settings, mental health crises are critical moments that require immediate attention and expert care. This will be a 30-minute webinar that will provide the audience with a unique perspective from a licensed therapist, Lynn Hall, who has served as a mobile crisis assessor in hospital emergency departments. The speaker will share valuable insights into the assessment and de-escalation strategies used in real-life mental health emergencies. Attendees will learn about the therapist's role, the challenges of managing psychiatric crises, and the importance of rapid response. Lynn will explore how pharmacists can play a vital role in supporting mental health crisis teams, particularly through the management and administration of emergency psychiatric medications. Participants will gain practical knowledge about collaboration opportunities, especially in settings where mental health and pharmacy intersect, to improve patient care outcomes during crises.
