Breaking Barriers: Cervical Cancer Awareness in Women of Color
Cervical cancer and HPV are closely linked, as HPV is a significant risk factor for developing cervical cancer. Mental health plays a crucial role in the diagnosis and management of cervical cancer, as the emotional and psychological impact of the diagnosis can be profound. Unfortunately, there is still limited screening for HPV and cervical cancer, particularly among women of color. Guest speaker, Samantha Bastow, PharmD, Associate Director in Medical Affairs at BD, will guide us through the need for increased screening and the importance of breaking the silence around these disparities. Dr. Bastow’s expertise in Women’s Health Initiatives and Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) will highlight how advanced diagnostic tools, like BD’s ONCLARITY, can improve clinical outcomes. Let’s raise awareness, fight stigma, and empower women to take charge of their health—don’t miss this important conversation!
