Bio
Tazche is dedicated to expanding representation and DEI initiatives within pharmacy. At UNC she interned in UNC’s Office of Organizational Diversity and Inclusion and sat on UNC’s Social Equity and Inclusion Committee as a voice for her peers. She was recognized as the 2023 recipient of the Reddick Wicker Award for Diversity and Inclusion. Alongside SNPhA’s National Vice President, Ashley Addison, she developed a reflective tool to scan for bias in pharmacotherapy course cases. This work was recognized as the 2024 AACP Trainee Poster Winner. Tazche interned for UNC’s Practice Advancement and Clinical Education Division. She is committed to enhancing the role of pharmacists in population health initiatives and value-based care. She is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Outside of pharmacy, Tazche loves to do puzzles, exercise, try new restaurants, and cheer on her brother on the soccer field! Tazche’s devotion to serve the underserved is inspired by her family. As your President Elect, she was inspired by how SNPhA members joined together to make a difference in their communities. She is thrilled to work alongside the National Board to expand our connections in the community, with NPhA, with each other, and in leadership. In 2022, Precious co-founded and served as President of the SNPhA chapter at her school. Nationally, she served as the SNPhA National Region V Facilitator from 2023 to 2024 and was a member of the National Nominations Committee in 2023. Precious launched a Black Health Fair in Tucson to address healthcare disparities in underserved communities and has actively supported underrepresented students through her leadership roles. She also facilitated collaboration between SNPhA and MexZona, a program that sends pharmacy students to Mexico for monthly health clinics. She completed the Greater Tucson Leadership Lead Tucson Program, earning the Gen Ronald L. Kurth Award, and became one of the youngest recipients of Tucson's 40 Under 40 award. Precious is passionate about pursuing a career in the pharmaceutical industry. In her free time, she coaches track for the Tucson Elite Athletic Club and enjoys playing the guitar, boxing, olympic weightlifting, cooking, and photography. This year, Precious will serve as the SNPhA National President-Elect and is excited to continue driving meaningful change within the organization. Growing up in a rural town, Ashley understood the impact of health disparities at a young age and became passionate about finding ways to improve this. Upon enrolling at UNC, she looked for opportunities to be involved in improving the health of underserved communities. With SNPhA, she has been able to live out her passions and find her voice in advocating for communities like her own. As a leader at the local level, Ashley dedicated her time to SNPhA by serving as President-Elect and President of UNC SNPhA from 2022-2024. Under her leadership, the chapter was able to increase their community involvement and be named as one the finalists for the Large Size C.I.C Chapter Excellence Award. Recognized by her efforts, Ashley was acknowledged as the 2023-2024 J.B. Hill National Chapter President of the Year. Outside of pharmacy, Ashley enjoys spending time with family and friends, trying new recipes and restaurants, and doing community service with her sorority, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. During her SNPhA journey, Lauren was the only P1 on the initiative chair committees and quickly embraced the mission. She later served as the chapter's Vice President, encouraging her initiative chairs and team to be more proactive in the St. Louis region. One of Lauren's significant accomplishments was leading the donation for a nearby nursery to help local children with necessities. Outside of SNPhA, Lauren is involved in various organizations, including serving as APhA Membership Vice President, SSHP-ASHP liaison, and a student committee member on the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion board at SIUE, as well as the Global Education Committee. She is also the student director of the Peer Buddy Mentor Program within the School of Pharmacy. When not busy with school organizations, she enjoys walking her English bulldog, Zoei, and spending time at the movie theater. Sherri's SNPhA journey began in her P1 year, serving first as P1 Liaison, then as Chapter Delegate, and later as Chapter President, where she co-hosted the Regions I & II Conference. She also participated in SNPhA National Competitions including runner-up for the 2023 LEAP @ Lilly Business Case Competition and finalist for the 2023 AstraZeneca MSL Competition. Beyond SNPhA, Sherri is a 2023 MedTech Scholar, Rho Chi Chapter Historian, MUSC Innovation Ambassador Secretary, and an active member of the MUSC College of Pharmacy DEI Committee. She is passionate about industry pharmacy, innovation, and health equity. Sherri is excited to serve as the National Corresponding Secretary and is committed to fostering connections and opportunities in line with this year’s presidential theme, "Connected for Change." | Bio
Katie’s SNPhA journey began when she served as her chapter’s historian during her third year of pharmacy school. Shortly after starting her position, she was approached to be the marketing and communications chair for the 2024 Regions 3, 4, & 5 convention. While her SNPhA story is only beginning, she recognizes the power that SNPhA has to give a voice to those who may not have one otherwise. She also hopes that her SNPhA story serves as an example that it is never too late to get involved, especially when driven by passion. Outside of SNPhA, Katie has served as the president of the University of Kansas School of Pharmacy’s honor council and as a three year member of her school’s well-being committee. Additionally, she held leadership positions in her school’s Kappa Epsilon and American Pharmacists Association chapters. In her free time, Katie is a proud cat and guinea pig mom, and has a deep love for the performing arts, video games, and being the designated “photo friend”. As Public Relations Liaison, Katie hopes to use the national platform to continue to serve as an advocate for equity while also giving a voice to others. She believes that in order for people to feel seen, we must ensure that they are heard– a philosophy she hopes to use to guide her work as PRL. |

Kiera is deeply committed to advocating for underrepresented voices. With her SNPhA chapter, Kiera served as Chapter Delegate at the 2023 National Convention. During the 2022-2023 academic year, she served as President-Elect, and in the following year, as Chapter President. Under her leadership, the High Point University Chapter were finalists for the Small Chapter Excellence Award, securing third place for impactful events in the LMBI, Remember the Ribbon, and Power to End Stroke initiatives. Kiera also launched the Minority and Cultural Awareness initiative to promote diversity and inclusion at High Point University within SNPhA. Her team earned third place in the Walmart Prescription for Service Competition for a project addressing food insecurity in the High Point Community. Additionally, she was a finalist for the J.B. Hills Chapter President of the Year Award. Kiera is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and the Phi Lambda Sigma National Pharmacy Leadership Society. Marquita's dedication to service found a perfect match in SNPhA’s mission. Her journey with SNPhA began when she served as her chapter's president-elect, realizing that her commitment to aiding those in need aligned with the organization's goals. She has also had the privilege of serving as the National PTES Secretary and as a member of the National Convention Programming Committee. A highlight of her journey was an 8-day mission trip to Honduras, where she provided healthcare to underserved communities. Additionally, she has actively participated in community health fairs and organized drives for the local homeless population. Beyond SNPhA, Marquita is involved in Phi Lambda Sigma, Kappa Psi, and Rho Chi. Outside her academic commitments, Marquita enjoys dancing, traveling, and exploring new cuisines. Melody’s journey with SNPhA began in her first year of pharmacy school, serving as the Diabetes Initiative Chair from 2021-2022. She then served as Vice President in 2022-2023 and President in 2023-2024. Under her leadership, the FAMU Chapter of SNPhA was named the College’s Organization of the Year. At the 2024 National NPhA/SNPhA Convention, Melody received the Dr. Rosalyn King Endowed Scholarship, was nominated for the Rite Aid Community Leadership Award, and was a finalist for the J.B. Hills Chapter President of the Year Award. As a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and Kappa Epsilon Professional Pharmacy Fraternity, Inc., service is embedded in Melody’s heart. During this academic year, she aims to equip Region 3 with the tools and resources needed to fulfill SNPhA’s mission of serving the underserved. Brianna found her “why” in life and decided to dedicate herself to serving minority and underserved populations. Her passions revolve around mentorship, advocacy, leadership, and healthy outcomes. She has an undying passion for guiding young and developing professionals, being a resource for those in need, and encouraging her communities to be stewards of their healthy lives. At the local level, Brianna served as President-Elect and President for the SNPhA Chapter at Mercer University where she promoted more hands-on community service opportunities for the student body. Brianna remains active as a community volunteer, a College of Pharmacy Senior Ambassador, and a chapter member of Phi Lambda Sigma (PLS) Pharmacy Leadership Society and the Mercer Public Health Association (MPHA). Currently, Brianna is a pharmacy intern at Emory Hospital and is pursuing a residency. Outside of pharmacy and public health, she finds joy in spending quality time with family and friends, traveling, indulging in nature, and reading. In 2021, Meron’s SNPhA journey began. As an out-of-state, she sought out community and found a home within SNPhA. The organization allowed her to fulfill her passion of serving underserved communities through the planning of initiative-focused service events. During her time in SNPhA, she served as the Remember the Ribbon Chair, Initiative Coordinator, and President. As President, it was her goal to refuel the passion for the organization in her chapter. Under her leadership, her chapter was able to win several Initiative Awards and be selected as a finalist for the Medium Size C.I.C Chapter Excellence Award. She was also nominated for the Rite Aid Community Leadership Award. Meron is beyond excited to serve as the 2024-2025 Region 5 facilitator and be Connected for Change with you all this year! Charles was introduced to SNPhA during a mock interview event for pre-pharmacy students. From that experience, he developed a strong appreciation for the organization's welcoming and supportive environment. Upon entering pharmacy school, Charles served as the Operation Immunization Chair for his local SNPhA chapter for two years. During this time, he participated in Shot@Life’s Championship Leadership Summit and became the inaugural recipient of the 2024 Voice for Vaccine Award. Outside of SNPhA, Charles is actively involved in the Industry Pharmacists Organization and the Black Student Pharmacist Organization. In his leisure time, he enjoys playing basketball, exploring new cooking recipes, and working out. Upon entering pharmacy school, KeAnna joined SNPhA and progressed into leadership roles. As the Bridging the Gap (BTG) Head Chair at her local chapter, she was afforded the opportunity to facilitate professional development in target populations in her sphere of influence. Beyond her involvement in SNPhA, KeAnna assumed leadership roles in the Louisiana Society of Health-System Pharmacists, Phi Delta Chi, and Christian Pharmacists Fellowship International. In her leisure time, KeAnna enjoys engaging in musical arrangements, reading, and walking. KeAnna's dedication to service has shaped her professional aspirations, leading her to pursue residency and practice as an ambulatory care pharmacist. Her ambitions for the BTG Initiative center on nurturing the professional development of members and fostering a seamless transition from local engagement to national participation. As the BTG Initiative Chair, KeAnna is eager to serve students at the national level. | BioJoshua Morehead is a fourth-year pharmacy student from the University of Louisiana at Monroe. Josh was born and raised in Kinder, Louisiana, a small rural town in southern Louisiana. Growing up in this environment he saw firsthand the health disparities and prominent social determinants which led to his passion for wanting to educate and serve the underserved population. Josh’s passion for SNPhA continued to grow deeper as he became more active within his local chapter. He previously served as the head chair of the LMBI initiative at his local chapter and the year before that he served as the Vice chair. Which consisted of organizing letter writing campaigns, voter registration drives, and informing his peers about hot topic pharmacy items that currently impacted the pharmacy profession. Outside of being involved in SNPhA Josh is a member of Phi Delta Chi, Louisiana Independent Pharmacist Association, Industry Pharmacists Organization. Josh enjoys traveling, spending time with friends and family, and cooking. Josh is eager to serve as the National LMBI Chair this year and hopes to increase legislation awareness and advocating for everyone as we get Connected For Change. | Bio
Growing up in Aledo, Texas, a small town near the Dallas/Fort Worth area, Magdalene witnessed the challenges that underserved communities face in accessing basic supplies and healthcare services. These experiences fueled her commitment to increasing healthcare and medication access for all. Her involvement with SNPhA began during her undergraduate years, where she found a strong alignment with her mission to serve vulnerable populations. Magdalene previously served as PK and Treasurer at the local level, as well as Public Relations Liaison on the National PK Subcommittee. Magdalene’s dedication extends beyond local efforts; she recently completed a Global Access Fellowship in Kigali, Rwanda, further solidifying her resolve to not only make local, but also a global impact. In addition to her role in SNPhA, Magdalene is an active member of Phi Delta Chi Pharmacy Fraternity and the Industry Pharmacist Organization and will participate in the AACP Aspiring Academics Program this year. Outside of pharmacy, she enjoys spending time in the kitchen—whether cooking, baking, or trying out new restaurants—and values spending quality time with her loved ones. Andrea is committed to advancing diabetes education and prevention efforts, particularly in communities that are disproportionately affected by the disease. Her work is grounded in her extensive experience coordinating health and wellness initiatives, including leading community-based glucose screenings and advocating for evidence-based practices to combat vaccine misinformation. Andrea's dedication to pharmacy and public health is further demonstrated by her involvement in initiatives like "Future Pharmacists Without Borders," which earned national recognition as an educational intervention at a borderland refugee center. She aims to leverage her background in pharmacy and public health to create impactful, sustainable programs that empower individuals to take control of their health. Andrea is thrilled to take on the role of your 2024-2025 National Fighting Diabetes Initiative Chair and looks forward to collaborating with local chapters to uplift and empower our communities! | Bio
After graduating, Chankira plans to pursue a residency program and aims to become a Clinical Pharmacist Specialist, working as part of the healthcare team. Growing up in a small, rural town, she saw firsthand the impact of healthcare disparities on underserved communities. This experience fueled her commitment to addressing these issues, leading her to join the Student National Pharmaceutical Association (SNPhA). Through SNPhA, she has been actively involved in community outreach and health initiatives, building meaningful connections and positively impacting those in her community. Chankira is deeply passionate about cardiac diseases and their impact on minority communities. As the National Power to End Stroke Initiative Chair, she aims to raise awareness about these conditions and improve health outcomes. This position brought many challenges and accolades for him, his co-chair, and their chapter. During her time in pharmacy school, Tonnah has held several leadership positions, including roles with ACCP, NCPA, Phi Delta Chi, and SNPhA. As the Mental Health Chair at her local SNPhA chapter, she led initiatives that emphasized education and fostered a supportive community around mental health topics. She also acts as a class officer and student delegate, representing her school at various sponsored functions. Outside of her academic and professional endeavors, Tonnah enjoys reading, cooking, and engaging in community service. She has been a dedicated volunteer with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital for the past four years and currently serves on the Board as the Volunteer Coordinator, where she continues to make a positive impact. As the National Mental Health Chair for SNPhA, Tonnah is eager to expand her efforts on a national level, advocating for mental health awareness and providing valuable resources to support pharmacy students in their journey towards professional and personal well-being. |

During pharmacy school, Sharmaine was dedicated to serving underserved communities, which led her to serve as the Chapter President of her local SNPhA chapter. As the Immediate Past National President, Sharmaine continued developing confident student leaders, empowering minority health professionals, and elevating the future of pharmacy through her presidential vision to Make an I.M.P.A.C.T. Sharmaine also actively participated in Lambda Kappa Sigma, an organization focused on empowering women in pharmacy, Rho Chi Honor Society, and Phi Lambda Sigma. Sharmaine’s aspirations for a career in the pharmaceutical industry led her to complete an internship as a Scientific Communications Intern at ECIR Medical Communications and an APPE rotation as a Medical Information Extern at Haleon Consumer Health. Sharmaine is currently completing her Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Medical Strategy at Bristol Myers Squibb in conjunction with Rutgers University. Outside of work, Sharmaine enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and playing musical instruments. She has been a supervisor in several retail settings to maintain organization and bring new ideas. Dr. Christian has dedicated her early career to pharmacy organizations focused on minoritized individuals. She serves as the past chair of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for the Society of Infectious Diseases Pharmacists (SIDP) and Executive Director for SNPhA. She is board certified in infectious diseases and HIV. She is passionate about teaching, as evidenced by receiving awards for most supportive preceptor in 2020, preceptor of the year in 2021, and pharmacy teacher of the year in 2024. In 2023, Dr. Knight was nominated and awarded the Johnson & Johnson’s National Pharmacist Highlight Campaign to recognize the impact and essentialism of psychiatric clinical pharmacists within clinical practice and their communities. She is an active member and has also served on the national board of the National Pharmaceutical Association (NPhA). Dr. Knight’s love for the Student National Pharmaceutical Association (SNPhA) runs deep. She has served as a student member, a past chapter president, and a regional facilitator of SNPhA throughout her collegiate experience. Dr. Knight continues to be highly passionate about serving marginalized and underprivileged communities, while celebrating the beauty of diversity within the world of pharmacy. She thoroughly believes that “It’s a blessing to be a blessing” and looks forward to being ‘Connected for Change’ with the present SNPhA National Board Members in this capacity. Upon entering pharmacy school, she was certain that she wanted to enter a career where she could help to advance medicine while continuing to address societal inequities and serve others. Tatiana has served 3 consecutive years as a national initiative chair and Vice President for SNPhA. Tatiana spearheaded SNPhA’s first inaugural National Residency and Fellowship Showcase Week. Tatiana completed a post-doctoral fellowship in Commercial Regulatory Affairs at Bristol Myers Squibb in conjunction with Rutgers University. Tatiana now works at Sobi North America as a Senior Manager, Regulatory Advertising and Promotion. Tatiana’s hobbies include fitness, traveling, reading, and spending time with her dog Basil. She has co-founded a social pharma platform, The Pharma Collective, designed to expose graduate students to different careers in biotechnology and aid in professional development. Tatiana is excited to help students to learn about opportunities to be Connected for Change. She is devoted to the organization and will work tirelessly with our sponsors to continue to bring benefits and professional development opportunities to SNPhA members. | BioSarah is a PGY1 Resident at the Huntsville Hospital in Huntsville, Alabama. She is originally from Rainsville, Alabama. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Samford University. Sarah’s SNPhA story began in her first year of pharmacy school. She joined SNPhA as her chapters’ P1 Liaison and second year as chapter secretary. She has proudly served as a National Bridging the Gap Sub-committee, 2023 Regions 1 & 2 Conference Planning Committee and most recently, as National Region 2 Facilitator. Beyond SNPhA, Sarah is passionate about serving her community leading a smoking cessation clinic and helping with a food rescue program. In her free time, Sarah enjoys hiking, baking or cooking, and spending quality time with family and friends. After PGY1 year, Sarah hopes to practice in critical care, furthering the profession through teaching and precepting students. | Bio
Chelsey’s SNPhA story began in her first year of pharmacy school. She has proudly served as her chapter’s CAPs Vice Chair, as the Career Recruitment Chair on the National Bridging the Gap Sub-committee, and most recently, as the National Recording Secretary. Beyond SNPhA, Chelsey is involved in Dose of Melanin and serves as a member of the Federal Resident Council. She also leads a personal initiative called SafeHaven Rx, which focuses on educating the community about substance use disorders and harm reduction strategies. In her free time, Chelsey enjoys exercising, experimenting with new recipes, playing with her dog, and spending quality time with family and friends. Her passion for serving and advocating for her community drives her career goal of becoming an ambulatory care pharmacist. |
