Community Outreach

Heart Health Outreach - February 2026

NPhA member Alisa Jackson and her team showed up at the Giant Health Fair at Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis, Indiana, on February 7th, and they showed up fully.

Nearly 100 attendees stopped by their table to learn about the signs and symptoms of heart attack and stroke, healthy ways to reduce stress, and nutrition tips, including guidance on reducing salt intake.

The team also interpreted blood pressure readings taken by IU Health and educated participants on the new blood pressure categories, using health information sheets from the American Heart Association.

Diabetes Outreach - November 2025

The University of Cincinnati SNPhA Chapter hosted a Diabetes Awareness Night in collaboration with the Cincinnati Pharmaceutical Association (CinPhA).

This event featured interactive activities such as glucometer demonstrations, nutrition label reading, carbohydrate matching, and taste comparisons of regular versus zero-sugar beverages.

With support from Dr. Rashad Elliott and advisors Dr. Achoe and Dr. Lloyd, student pharmacists gained valuable hands-on patient counseling experience while empowering community members on diabetes management.

The chapter extends its appreciation to CinPhA and all volunteers: (Alisha, Manzura, Kaleb, Benjamin, Jake, and Angel) who contributed to the success of this impactful event.

Chicago Pharmacists Association

Members of the Chicago Pharmacists Association participated in a Diabetes Awareness and Education Event, “Stronger Than Sugar: Take Control of Your Health—One Choice at a Time,” in partnership with the Chicago Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Physical and Mental Health Committee.

The event focused on empowering the community with practical strategies for diabetes prevention and effective management while emphasizing overall wellness.

Attendees received valuable health education along with free health screenings, supporting early detection and informed decision-making.

This collaborative initiative highlighted the power of community partnerships in advancing health equity and improving health outcomes.

Palm Beach Atlantic University

Second year pharmacy student, Angellina Boodhoo led a weekly ‘‘Know Your Numbers" initiative during the month of November to empower people to know their glucose numbers before the holidays.

Students Brandon Lubin, Isabelle Alfonso, Victoria Etuk, Isbael Gaya, Imanise Telusnord , Gabriella Bueno and Morgan Brackett proudly represented the Lloyd L. Gregory School of Pharmacy.

With guidance from Dr. Lendoiro, the team successfully tested almost 50 people! Each participant gained hands-on experience in patient testing, recruitment, communication skills, and ensuring proper completion of patient forms.

Thanks to their teamwork and commitment, the event was an outstanding success— making a meaningful impact on the community while advancing their clinical skills.
