Conversations can be the turning point in preventing HIV, but knowing how to start them makes all the difference. During this session, you’ll discover how motivational interviewing can transform sensitive discussions into meaningful care opportunities.

Learning Objectives

  1. Demonstrate motivational interviewing techniques to initiate HIV prevention conversations with both adult and adolescent patients.
  2. Develop a "warm hand-off" referral map and implement protocols linking patients to local HIV testing centers, youth health clinics, and harm-reduction organizations.
  3. Design tailored strategies for navigating insurance benefits and patient-assistance programs to support PrEP/PEP initiation.

Activity-Type: Knowledge-based

UAN: 0215-0000-25-046-L02-P

This event has been approved for 1.5 contact hours (0.15 CEU). Participants must sign in and attend the entire session. No partial credit will be issued. Participants will complete the program evaluation online within 15 days for transmission to the CPE ® Monitor System.
