2024-2025 SNPhA Presidential Theme

Hi SNPhAm!

My name is Tazche Turner, and I am honored to serve as your 2024-2025 SNPhA National President. This year’s theme is inspired by you, our SNPhA members.

Over the past year, I saw you all come together to actively serve in your communities providing essential health education and screening services to over 100,000 patients and community members. I have listened to your impassioned conversations focused on the necessity of health equity, the need for improved access to care for all, and the importance of increased advocacy for our underserved communities within our health care legislation. I have joined you at our regional conferences where we created community and embodied what it really means to be a part of the SNPhAm. The connections you all made this year with your patients, within our communities, and with each other was the catalyst for this year’s theme.

It is the connections with our communities, with our patients,  with our families, and with our SNPhAm that inspires us not only to pursue, but succeed in our future careers in pharmacy. We all have a connection to someone or some place that inspired us to join SNPhA and make a difference in our underserved communities. So SNPhAm - please join me this year as we become Connected for Change” to grow as leaders and make a difference in our communities!

Connected for Change

Embracing the power of connection to make a true, positive difference in our communities.

  1. Connecting in our Communities
    • Conduct a national advocacy campaign in November 2024 during National Homeless Awareness Month to address the rising numbers of those experiencing homelessness in our country.
    • Establish a Cultural and Health Awareness Committee within the National Board to ensure SNPhA members are ready to treat and care for all patients in their communities.
  2. Connecting with our SNPhAm
    • Elevate Chapter Achievement Partners (CAPs) and the Chapter Buddy System to enhance collaboration between our chapters to amplify our positive influence in our communities.
    • Enhance the pre-pharmacy membership experience to provide dynamic and impactful experiences to our future pharmacy students.
  3. Connecting in Leadership
    • Expand SNPhA’s programming to provide SNPhA members increased opportunities to connect and engage with each other in events beneficial for professional growth. Do you have an idea? Please share it here!
    • Utilize SNPhA’s social media accounts (such as LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook) to promote the amazing work our SNPhAm is doing in their communities and heighten our professional presence through digital mediums.
  4. Connecting with NPhA
    • Collaborate with NPhA Leadership to increase networking opportunities between SNPhA and NPhA members through joint programming and regional conferences.
    • Encourage SNPhA members to continue their dedication to serving the underserved by joining NPhA’s New Practitioner Network upon graduation. First year is free! Fourth-year SNPhAm, let’s not miss out! Here’s the link I’ll use to sign up. Please join me.

Yours Truly,

Tazche Turner
