This comprehensive training program, sponsored by the Foundation for Opioid Response Efforts (FORE) and coordinated by Howard University College of Pharmacy, offers a unique opportunity to enhance your skills in managing opioid use disorder (OUD) in community pharmacy settings.

Space is limited. Register by Thursday, October 17th.

Who Should Attend: Licensed DC Pharmacists, Pharmacy Students, Pharmacy Technicians, and healthcare providers involved in OUD management and/or community pharmacy practice.

Please note that regardless of which professional category you fall under, you must be licensed to practice in Washington, DC in order to participate in this training.

Eligible registrants will be enrolled in the self-study pre-class and will receive additional information (including instructions for accessing the October 19th training session) via email.

Why This Matters:

  • D.C. ranks 2nd nationally in opioid overdose deaths, with a disproportionate impact on African American men in Wards 5, 6, 7, and 8.
  • Only 1 in 10 people with Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) receive medication treatment.

Key Program Highlights:

  • Learn evidence-based OUD management strategies
  • Acquire skills to reduce stigma and improve patient care
  • Complete 8 hours of self-paced pre-work followed by a 4-hour live webinar
  • Earn 8 hours of pharmacist continuing professional education (CPE) credits
  • Become eligible for Collaborative Practice Agreements (CPAs) in DC upon completion

By participating, you’ll join a network of healthcare professionals working to increase access to life-saving medications and improve outcomes for patients with OUD in our community.
